Message

From our own journey as orphans to creating the Great Sisters Transformation Centre, we understand the challenges facing vulnerable youth in Uganda.

Our experiences taught us that with the right support, every young person can transform their life.

We're not just an organization – we're a beacon of hope. By providing vocational training, education, and comprehensive support, we empower young people to break cycles of poverty and create their own futures.

Every life we touch is a story of potential unlocked. Together, we're building a brighter tomorrow for Uganda's youth.

With hope and determination,

A Journey of Hope
GSTC History

In the heart of Uganda, a remarkable story of resilience began in 2017. Born from the personal struggles of two orphaned sisters, Bacia Celine and Onzia Ajidiru Christine, the Great Sisters Transformation Centre emerged as a beacon of hope for vulnerable youth.

Their own journey was far from easy. At 15, Celine found herself displaced, washing clothes in Kampala's suburbs and sleeping at bus parks. Her sister Christine faced teenage pregnancy and seemingly insurmountable challenges. But instead of succumbing to circumstances, they transformed their pain into purpose.

Witnessing the harsh realities faced by orphans and vulnerable youth - with 2.5 million orphans in Uganda and 1.2 million orphaned by HIV - the sisters saw a critical need. Their personal experiences revealed a stark truth: without support, young people were at risk of dropping out of school, facing early pregnancies, and falling victim to cycles of poverty.

In May 2017, Great Sisters Transformation Centre was born. Starting with just 10 orphans and a vision to provide comprehensive support, the organization began its mission. Their approach was holistic: addressing not just educational needs, but providing life skills, sexual reproductive health education, and vocational training.

What started as a small initiative quickly became a powerful movement. Focusing on youth aged 10-24, the center developed programs in vocational skills like tailoring, welding, and hair design. They broke down taboos surrounding sexual health, provided critical support to orphans, and created pathways to economic independence.

From a personal mission to a registered NGO, Great Sisters has become a testament to the power of transformative support. Today, they continue to empower young people, proving that every youth can rewrite their story with the right opportunity.

A journey of hope, one life at a time.
